new Zonda R

Pagani Zonda RModena-based supercar maker Pagani have announced an even more extreme version of the Zonda model - if this is possible. Here is some information on the new Zonda R from Sydney-based Australian importer Supercar Investments, with the original press release from Pagani themselves below.
Zonda R
This Zonda is purpose made for track use, without the restriction of having to comply with any homologation or competition rules. State of the art safety features are employed in line with Pagani's philosophy of not tolerating any compromise when it comes to occupant safety.
A New HeartThe engine is built by the racing specialists at Mercedes AMG, where the championship winning DTM cars and the awesome CLK GTR are built.
The CLK GTR is probably the most devastating and effective weapon ever to compete in the GT series. From its engine the Zonda R borrows the basic architecture, including an ingenious dry sump which allows an extremely low centre of gravity. The engine is a structural member of the chassis and has the following
  1. 750 hp at 8000 rpm and 710 Nm of torque
  2. Lightweight carbon fibre high performance intake system
  3. Multi disc sintered racing clutch
  4. Formula 1 style exhaust, hydro formed in Inconel 625 and ceramic coated for optimal heat dissipation
The power unit is combined with a 6 speed transverse manual sequential synchronised gearbox, designed to satisfy even the most ambitious of drivers.
The Chassis
The central carbon chassis incorporates a roll cage and a rubber racing fuel tank with 4 fuel pumps and a racing style "dry break" filling system. The wheelbase has been increased by 60mm to offer the best stability.
The front and rear sub frames are brand new, built to accommodate a new suspension geometry and manufactured in avional. The magnesium forged rims with central wheel nut and a quick pneumatic lifting system allow fast and effortless changes of the racing slicks.
Pagani Zonda R
Bodywork & Aerodynamics
The all new bodywork has been honed to offer increased downforce, even in low speed corners. The longer front bonnet with vents, closed underbody and the rear overhang with an adjustable rear wing and race derived diffuser translate into shattering aerodynamic efficiency and allow very high cornering speeds.
The car displays and logs information about the amount of downforce being generated at each moment. Combined with the adjustable wings, this means the car can be set up for each track.
Workstation
The interior is designed to accommodate the driver and passenger in bespoke seats, built to offer the best support when the G-forces build up. The Digitek instrumentation provides all essential information and a sophisticated telemetry system, employing a variety of sensors and allows every single component of the car to be monitored.
Price
1.2 million Euro plus taxes - approximately $2M plus taxes.
Availability. If you're in the market for one - and the price above is within your bracket - you can reserve a build slot by contacting Sydney based Supercar Investments.

Zonda R

While we certainly cannot say the Zonda F lacks performance figures, driving around the Nürburgring in 7:32 and achieving lateral G forces of almost 1.5 G, it is however a road car, easy to drive, intuitive and setting the benchmark for comfort, safety and lightweight.
Pagani Zonda R
Paired with a quality finish and the attention to detail this made the Zonda F one of the most desirable supercars resulting in the 25 Coupé models being sold out in record time. This did not seem to fulfil the requirements of our most demanding customers, who adore the weekend drive on a racetrack.
The spark has been set by an Italo-American customer, enthusiast and already proud owner of 3 Zondas. He describes the project this way: “The thought has been on my mind for quite some time, but I am not interested in racing”.
The Zonda R is born with full liberty. The target: the ultimate performance at the racetrack without any implications of rules, except for safety, where no compromise is allowed. In September 2006 the first drawings were ready, but it was crucial to have the support of Mercedes-AMG for a high revving engine with a power output of 750hp, dry sump, light and with a low centre of gravity. The basis was the self supporting engine of the mighty CLK GTR, which has dominated the GT championships.
Even at constant racing pace the engine would have to cover over 5.000 km before servicing. The challenge has been accepted without hesitation. The Zonda R is a car designed from scratch, with only 10% of the Zonda F components to be carried over. The suspension forged in Avional, a new Pagani six speed transversal sequential gearbox, carbon fibre monocoque, aeronautical four pump fuel tank are only part of the equation.
The wheelbase has grown by 47mm, the overall length by 394 mm and the track is increased by 50mm. The bodywork and aerodynamics have been studied to offer maximum downforce. Even though built for the track, the project would not have received kick off, if the quality and finish of the car and its details was not up to the level of the Pagani road cars.
One of the first cars to be delivered however will be kept in a living room, designed by Pagani and built with the same materials as the Zonda F, beautifully textured carbon fibre, avional, titanium, inconel and other state of the art materials. Additionally it will feature a bespoke HiFi System that will allow the customer to listen to the sound of this car at Le Mans and the Nürburgring.

Automobile industry has seen various changes in past few years. Trend for compact hybrid cars is at its peak now a days. Several new designs are shaped every day and there is lot more to come.
Peugeot Modif is a fabulous design for a hybrid car that will be very successful in small towns and tight places. It has a two tone color scheme and the center of this is the large rubber tube-like center shaft that allows the car to squeeze up to 88 centimeters and also provides the front of the car with flexibility to swivel from side to side 18.5 degrees for better drive.
I liked the design as it is different from traditional designs, it features white tires and large black chrome wheels with each tire having six special pads holding sensors to intimate the driver for adjustment of car according to road conditions. Inside each massive wheel is a powerful hydrogen hybrid engine. 80% of the material used to make is renewable, the a rubber element in the front part houses the oil, water and CPU.

The cockpit of the car is covered by a large bubble top one-piece window that provides the passenger and the driver with an unobstructed view up to 360 degrees. Rare view cameras on both sides constantly provide with the status of the road behind on a screen embedded on the dashboard. It also features a high-discharge red led emergency light on the top for you to cherish a V.I.P. feeling. The exhaust pipe is positioned in the center that only emits water.

Future Transportation

EEL, Future Vehicle, Eco Car
The EEL concept is a compact and lightweight vehicle that features functional aerodynamic construction for great energy efficiency. The compact shape of this three-wheeler allows it waving through busy traffic and in between other cars and houses only one passenger and the driver. When turning, it has been designed to lean to the particular direction allowing better control for the driver. This electric vehicle comprises bio-ethanol engine which is completely eco-friendly. When charging through a traditional power point, the covered scooter shaped vehicle looks much like a mobile phone getting charged through its charger.

All-terrain sport coupe by Batyr Ospanov

All-terrain vehicle, sport coupe, transformable chassis, future car
The new sports coupe by UK-based designer Batyr Ospanov is an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that alters shape to provide commutation on both smooth and rough terrains. Powered by electric generators located at rear wheels, the two-seater has two driving modes, the road mode and the off-road mode. In the road mode, all the systems of the ATV are adapted for driving along the city traffic, while the ATV transforms its chassis for rough terrains, such as deserts, steppes and hills, in the off-road mode.

Capable of moving on all terrains, the sports coup also integrates two extra lights under the transparent bonnet. The glass parts of the body are integrated with solar cells to produce extra energy for the sports car. The enclosed cockpit ensures more safety and comfort to the passengers during challenging trips.

ford nuclear car concept

Pic of Ford Nucleon
FPG/Hulton Archive/Getty
In the 1950s, Ford produced a concept car called the Nucleon, intended to run on nuclear power, but the vehicle was never produced. See more nuclear power pictures.

It may seem like an impossible quest, or something from a science fiction movie, but nuclear-powered cars are worth considering, especially with the ongoing energy and climate crises. Given these challenges, some experts think that the use of nuclear power, in various forms, will make a comeback in the near future. When done properly, nuclear power is relatively safe, clean and affordable. So why not use it for cars?

To get an idea, think of how countries have employed nuclear reactors for uses beyond traditional nuclear power plants, submarines and aircraft carriers. Some uses of specialized reactors include providing heating in extremely cold climates and trying to convert coal into clean-burning gas. Both the former U.S.S.R. and the United States used small reactors to power satellites, though the practice became controversial because of satellites' propensity to fall back to Earth and break apart. These are examples of research reactors, and they may provide scientists with some ideas of how to adapt nuclear reactors for use in other vehicles.

One such possibility is nuclear-fueled hydrogen -- using nuclear energy to create clean, safe, affordable hydrogen fuel. Nuclear reactors could also power stations where motorists charge highly efficient batteries. Finally, scientists could create a miniature nuclear power plant and stick it in a car.

On the next page, we'll take a closer look at the benefits and explore some of the problems with a potential nuclear-powered car.

lamborghini bike concept

lamborghini motorcycle main Lamborghini Bike Concept Looks Futuristic
Flavio Adriani has designed the Lamborbiker, which is an awesome concept bike. He was inspired by the legendary Marcello Gandini who is a designer with the Bertone. The bike looks futuristic and reminds me of great bikes often seen in Europe. It comes with curved lines and a frame that is rather sleek.
The wheels don’t have hubs and it almost looks like a mean machine that is out to get the bad guys you see in the movies. I especially like the black color of the bike, as it makes it look meaner. However, there is no information about its technical specifications or its price. I would have loved the bike if it were a little sturdier.
I guess we will have to wait for a while to know if this bike would ever be launched. I would suggest you bike lovers to wait and watch to see if this bike will get launched. In my opinion, it is an interesting design and hence should create a buzz in the Market.

Nuclear powered bike

nuclearrow-image1_6lvQO_5965
The Nuclearrow Concept by Julien Vermeulen stands out of the crop of concepts we have seen in the past few days. The vehicle does look at clean energy, but does not stop at plain old lithium batteries and hydrogen, it goes quite ahead with the choice of Nuclear Power! The fusion reactor is placed at the rear and associated with a wheel engine, sending power to the rear wheel.
To cover the “jewel” in his design, Julien designed the engine to be housed like a “pearl in a shell”. The driver stretches out on the frame around the tank to drive, and since the vehicle is enclosed by screens for more security, additional data and directional systems are used. The entire concept has been housed in a textured shell based on squall skin that protects the driver and helps aerodynamically.
With power coming from nuclear fusion, we guess the Nuclearrow will move at mind numbing speeds and with great power; this makes the shell encasing more practical. Agreed, the technology is far from being a reality anytime soon, but it does show a very interesting take on the future of mobility.
Julien is currently looking for a six-month internship to complete his master.

KTM 125 Stunt & Race concept bikes

The Austrians from KTM have directed their innovative minds to creating two 125cc concept bikes that will meet the demands of riders who are just starting out and yet not benefit of more than 15 horsepower so that they can be ridden legally starting the age of 16. They named the two bikes KTM 125 Race concept and KTM 125 Stunt concept and we have to say that both look more than decent for the category. Press release is attached after the jump.

PRESS RELEASE

World Premiere at the EICMA: KTM presents the near series model of the KTM 125 project for the first time in Milan.

For decades now the sports motorcycle brand from Austria has been engaged in racing series all over the world and by its strong conviction and visible enthusiasm for motorsport has created for itself a unique sporting image. This KTM company philosophy is, without exception, reflected in the series models it produces. The support and promotion of tomorrow’s top riders is also a big KTM tradition. Whether competing in national sport and hobby riding or on the international stage in world championship format; whether on- or offroad, via sports promotional programmes or brand trophies, at KTM, young motorcycle enthusiasts are guaranteed plenty of attention and just the right motorcycle.

The circle closes

In the future, KTM offers the “Ready to Race” young riders the best fun and racing motorcycles and not just for use on closed circuits. As of the autumn of 2009, KTM presents the KTM 125 Project, expanding the Mattighofen, Austria, factory’s engagement in the development of series motorcycles. As well as the model range that includes the “Adventure“, “Supermoto“, “Naked Bike“ and “Superbike“, which has been continually growing since 2003, there is now a sharp focus on the machine for tomorrow’s motorcycle fan and this brings the “125” segment even more sharply into focus. With a new sporty, high quality Naked Bike in the typical KTM design language, the brand enters the segment for 125 motorcycles suitable for registration on the road and in doing so sets new standards. An independent concept within the KTM model palette right from its beginning, the future KTM 125 is conceived by and profits from the enormous know-how of the entire KTM Research and Development Department. In charge of the definition of this package of technology is the same team that has already realized legendary motorcycles like the 690 Duke. Naturally the look of the KTM 125 is a product of the company’s valued partner Kiska Design. This completely new 125 cc generation carries the same conviction and vision for the production of qualitatively the best sports motorcycles and above all stands for one thing: pure riding fun!

Powerful technology

Just as it is for the development of all KTM vehicles, there are clear rules for the KTM 125: as well as a maximum product quality, a purist sporty riding experience stands in the foreground of all production efforts. A minimal weight, best handling and best rideability are the traditional development goals. Not to be forgotten is the powerful engine, 100% developed in Mattighofen, which with 125 ccm displacement ensures plenty of enjoyment. A four valve cylinder head, two overhead camshafts, water cooling and fuel injection means that the basis 11 KW (15 hp) strong 125 cc engine carries all the most modern construction characteristics. As well as an exemplary motor culture, this typical new KTM development promises tingling performance output but at the same time guarantees highly modern levels of fuel consumption and emission characteristics. The motor, which comes in a light, latticed tubular steel frame exhales by way of an innovative exhaust system solution. The perfect KTM chassis solution combines low
weight and favourable dimensions with exemplary stability. There have also been no compromises with the high quality suspension elements developed by WP Suspension, the braking system with radial mounted four-piston callipers from premium supplier Brembo and the modern light metal wheels all of which are being used for the KTM 125. The development of the completely new generation of motorcycles therefore delivers all that it has promised to up-and-coming riders. The 125 cc, the exciting Naked Bike “Made in Austria” offers riding fun and all the competence of a full-sized similar machine.

Room to move

Riding fun on two wheels, regardless of the displacement, refuses to be locked away. Now more than ever before, the KTM 125 Project represents freedom and room to move for both original ideas and variety. Elegant, modified, stripped down, for racing or simply to ride, with the KTM 125 concept everything is allowed. A possible interpretation is embodied in a study of a Naked Racer – on which the exhaust system was modified with compatible design elements direct from the KTM 125 basis study.

Corvette ZR1

General Motors (GM) to claim the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Corvette is a car that combines luxury with speed. Among them is the ability to escape 0-100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the Corvette Z06.

ZR1 also carried LS9 V8 engine with a blast of 6200 cc up to 638 hp power and claimed to be covered up to a maximum speed 328 km / hour.

However, the sports car equipped with extra features not yet full size. Because consumers still have to spend more for completeness as chrome wheels, and optional choice for interior skin layer ZR1 logo, side air bags, Bose audio system and navigation system. ZR 1 production is limited, only 2000 units annually.

Mitsubhisi Lancer Sportback dan Lancer Ralliart

Mitsubishi introduces 2 new models, new variants are the Lancer and Lancer Sportback Ralliart models that use the base 2009 Lancer 1 or also known as the Galant Fortis on the Japanese market.

Both these cars use a turbocharged engine combined with technology Mitusbishi Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission). Four-wheel power distributed according to his needs through the system of Central Active Differential (ACD).

Feature Mitsubishi sport is obvious from the Lancer Sportback, a nose and grille with metal dilist trapezoidal shape. Machines are offered in 3 levels, including 1.5-liter capacity that can generate power to 109 PS, 1.8-liter gasoline with a blast of power 143 PS, and 2.0 liter diesel with 140 PS power. Despite having a certain model sport hatchback, the rear cabin can be used to increase the capacity of the trunk by folding the rear seat.

While the Lancer Ralliart model carrying the 4-cylinder engine turbocharged 2-liter DOHC Mitsubishi Innovative Valve system lift and timing Electronic Control (MIVEC). The resulting power of 240 PS.

The car was driven by electric motors and can dive to a depth of 10 meters. Making a car moving in the water was no longer a dream. Rinspeed CEO Frank Rinderknecht, in March and showed a prototype of the world's first car that can swim and dive to a depth of 10 meters.

Located at the Geneva motor show this, Rinderknecht in a video showing how to design a car company can continue to run smoothly without any problems. Seen diving car and then came back to the surface to drive into the street freely. Operation of the car was fairly easy, because to function and do not dive it only takes one button.

Rinspeed cars from Switzerland this is the first claimed previously although many cars with similar design can also drove in the water. sQuba, so the car's name, the excess is on the use of modern technology and the car was able to dive following the passengers in depth.

car divers 2

On previous cars are also in the car amphibious species, such as climbers or ALPHA, Citroen DS made in 1960, and Chrysler Labarron made in the era of the 70s, is still a new car does not have such advantages are offered by the sQuba. This excess is, capable of diving, fuel-efficient, and lighter because although some of the frame made of steel but most components are made of carbon fiber materials.

"This makes the lightest and sQuba becomes one of the cars that have applied nanotechnology," said Rinderknecht.

sQuba car also became the first divers from class sedan. Design berkerangka open doors, use an electric motor, two propeller and two jet engines escapement, thus allowing the car can travel long distances. This car is also better claim because it is designed to produce no emissions either when walking on land and at sea. This car is because energy is supplied from the type of lithium-ion battery.

"We draw from a dream with a James Bond film The Spy films Who Loved Me, released in 1977."

Seeing this film, was amazed Rinspeed and then dreamed about it. But admittedly, very different from the design. James Bond vehicles original form is a closed sedan with wings on the right and left, while no Rinspeed design.

In the sQuba, this vehicle drivers must come dive with the car and to feel the chill of the water. Breathing in the cabin for the vehicle has provided equipment and diving equipment device oxygen regulators issued from the cabin automatically. The air is always guaranteed fresh with no leak records.

The concept of sQuba is capable of diving up to 10 meters makes it as a potential military vehicles going. Self-drive with free, anyone can use this car for sneak and snoop. The car also offered superior because it can maneuver freely. But that does not mean like a fish that can be shot. There are still many limitations which, according Rinspeed team is a challenge.

This car also is said to be incarnation of a racing car made in the special techniques Esoro facilities in Switzerland. In the first phase done is to remove and replace the combustion engine with three electric motors machine. Three engines are all placed in the rear. One for driving while on the ground and the other two are used to move the water.

Engines are also supported by two staff Seabob jet in front. These vehicles are used for breathing by utilizing lap time through HS Genion (for opening and closing function of water turnover). This specially designed jet with carbon nano materials.

scuba design

When landing, the sQuba can be like an aquarium. It is recommended for after the dive, the vehicle door is opened so that water in the vehicle out. Rinderknecht says the sedan design intent is open because if there is an emergency passengers need not bother to get out of the car. But this is not the main reason, according to a sufficient depth in the water load will have great pressure and could not detained by the framework of regular saloon car like.

"If you want a waterproof designed so that we can be free in the car, car design is no longer futuristic, but shaped like a turtle with a shell big enough," he explained.
